Mulching Christmas TreesJanuary 8, 2016 By Sparks Tribune Leave a CommentJohn Byrne/TribuneSparks city employees David Bresee (left) and Jesse Hon were busy Monday recycling Christmas trees at the Shadow Mountain Sports Complex in Sparks. The trees are turned into mulch and even food for goats through a program overseen by the Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful organization. The recycling program uses “chippers” from the city of Sparks and other government entities. Residents can recycle trees through Jan. 10 at various drop-off locations.
