And then Reed was back in the playoff picture.
The Raiders handled North Valleys, 83-63, on Friday night to move back into the High Desert League’s final playoff spot.
Reed (7-15, 4-10) entered the game tied with North Valleys for fourth but was on the wrong end of the tiebreaker. With the win, the Raiders moved a full game ahead of the Panthers (3-11).
The Raiders led 22-13 at the end of the first quarter then exploded in the second quarter to go up 40-21. Reed continued to control the game in the second half. The Panthers never cut the deficit to single digits.
“We kept making the easy play and staying aggressive,” Reed coach Zach Sanford said. “We just have to focus on finishing out games. We got a tough week next week at Reno and then here against Spanish Springs.”
Jeremy Ramos finished the game with 28 points, along with Lincoln Turner’s 27.
Reed will take on Reno on the road on Tuesday night.
