Police seek ‘armed and dangerous’ man after chase
Early Saturday morning, Sparks Police officers conducted a traffic stop on a gold Saturn sedan occupied by three individuals in the 1400 block of Victorian Avenue. The vehicle was suspected of having fictitious registration. The driver, who was later determined to be Robert Ramsey, gave a false name to officers and refused to cooperate during the investigation.
Throughout Ramsey’s contact with officers, Ramsey challenged officers and refused to follow instructions. Shortly thereafter Ramsey fled from the traffic stop at a high rate of speed. Officers pursued Ramsey from the original location of the stop onto the eastbound lanes of Interstate 80. Ramsey continued to ignore traffic laws and drove at a high rate of speed. Ramsey eventually reached the vicinity of the Patrick exit of I-80 befrore the pursuit was terminated out of concern for public safety.
During the course of the investigation it was determined that Ramsey contacted associates and made various suicidal statements including that he was armed with a gun and willing to engage officers. Ramsey is considered to be armed and extremely dangerous and in addition to local charges for Eluding, currently is wanted by the State of California for a pair of Felony warrants related to the violation of his parole.

Man sought after home invasion in Sparks
On May 15 at approximately 10:50pm, Sparks Police officers responded to the report of an armed robbery at a residence in the 900 block of Ashwood Circle. Officers met with the two female victims, aged 74 and 49. They advised that a white male came to the door and pushed his way inside the residence when they answered the door. The male was armed with a handgun and demanded items from the females. After a brief struggle with the victims, the suspect left with several items.
Both female victims received minor injuries.
The male was wearing a dark hood, white long sleeved shirt, and dark colored pants. He was approximately 6 feet tall and 150 pounds. The victims believed the suspect to be in his early 20’s.
Attempted robbery at Alamo Casino
Sparks Police received a phone call on May 16 from the Alamo Casino located at 1950 E Greg Street and advised that an attempted robbery had just occurred.
Video from the video surveillance shows a black male adult enter the casino wearing dark clothing, backpack, beanie cap and gloves. The male then contacts the clerk at the at the sports book and hands over a note demanding all the money. The clerk then threw the note back at the male and the male exited the casino and was last seen entering what appeared to be an older white dodge stratus sedan fleeing from the area.
The male was unsuccessful in attaining any money.
