The City of Sparks Parks and Recreation Department is offering a Kids Triathlon on Sept. 10, for ages 4 to 18. The event provides the perfect introduction to the world of triathlon races. The swim will take place at the Alf Sorensen Community Center pool, 1400 Baring Blvd., followed by the bike and run courses.
The triathlon events are offered in multiple distances based on the age group of the competitor. The focus is to provide a triathlon experience in a non-competitive and fun atmosphere. The races will NOT be timed.
The entry fee for the triathlon is $35, which includes a T-shirt, race bag, and participatory medal. Register at the Sparks Parks and Recreation Office, 98 Richards Way, by August 24. The entry form is available online at www.sparksrec.com. Pre-Packet Pick up will be held Sept. 7, from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Participants must provide their own bike and helmet. Helmets are mandatory.
