The Outlets at Legends announces the addition of first escape room in Sparks.
Key and Code, located at 1420 Scheels Drive, will be opening September 29.
What is an Escape Room?
Escape rooms are the newest form of entertainment. In every escape-room scenario, a puzzle-solving team made up of 2-10 people enters a theme-based room and has 60 minutes to solve the clues that will “unlock the door.” Within each room are puzzles, clues, and codes that must be deciphered. Sometimes a clue will lead to another puzzle, a concealed compartment, a hidden clue or even a way out; all with the pulse-pounding thrill of trying to beat the clock.
Escape rooms offer “a thrilling team experience,” said Beth Jones, co-creator of Key and Code, “working in collaboration to discover each other’s strengths is why this is a perfect corporate team building exercise.”
Great fun for the entire family, blending the best of modern role-playing games with the classic mystery game. Which explains why, after falling in love with playing escape rooms, the creators of Key and Code (Beth and Chris Jones + Erica and Wesley Jackson) designed four unique room experiences:
• Dr. Ensaine – Don’t mind the drilling and the screams, his current patient probably just has a cavity. Was that sound a chainsaw?
• Family Secrets – Your family has pressured your Grandpa into taking a new drug from their clinical trial. He has started to go crazy and it’s your turn to check on him.
• Chain Reaction – Your research facility suspects Yellowstone’s Super Volcano is going to erupt, threatening thousands of lives. Will you save all of them or yourself?
• Tahoe ‘64 – Uncover the mysteries and conspiracies of the Great Tahoe Deception of 1964, from the mob to Frank and Marilyn, and the horrors that lie beneath the deep waters of Lake Tahoe.
