David, named for Henry David Thoreau, was born March 23, 1970, in Belding, Michigan, the son of Dennis Myers of Sparks and Connie Taylor Dean of Sheridan, Michigan. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Kuwait War.
David married Tereza Sedlbauerova– now a Ball State professor– on June 8, 2002, in Mt. Pleasant. David loved his children and the time spent with them very much and, at the time of his death, was their stay-at-home, full-time father. He loved the arts, especially music, and will always be remembered as very kind and generous. David is survived by his wife Tereza of Muncie; children Alicia “Ali” Dean (Dan Crawford) of Lansing, John-Paul Dean and Petr Dean both of Muncie; father Dennis Myers of Sparks; adopted daughter Hannajoe Settlemyre of Owosso; and his granddaughter Aurora of Lansing.
