The season came to an end for the Spanish Springs High football team last Friday when they fell to Reno 42-6 in the 4A Northern regional semifinal game.
It was an abrupt end for the Cougs who couldn’t get anything going against a stingy Husky defense. Reno led 28-0 at the half and 42-0 after the third quarter before the Cougars finally got on the board in the fourth.
Jackson Laduke led Spanish Springs with only 30 rushing yards on seven carries. The Cougars only managed 33 total yards in the game on offense as undefeated Reno cruised to the regional title game where they will take on Reed.
Senior Ossian Liber led the Cougars in tackles with nine in his final high school game as Spanish Springs finished with an overall record of 6-6 on the year.
