The Reed High boys baseball team began play last week with a 3-2 record after playing in the season-opening Mike Bearman Memorial Tournament.
The Raiders fell to Colfax, Calif. 5-1 last Thursday in their first game but bounced back in a big way the next day with a pair of wins.
Casey Burfield struck out seven and gave up just two hits in five innings of work to get the win over Lowry, 10-0. Tanner Clabaugh and Dylan Husted led the way on offense for Reed with two hits and two RBIs each. Later in the day Reed pounded out 18 hits and won a wild game with Enterprise, Calif., 18-9. The two teams combined for 15 runs in the first inning before Reed exploded with nine in the sixth to secure the win. Greg Oltman led both teams with four hits and three RBIs.
Kameron Soubiea struck out four and allowed just one hit on Saturday as Reed dropped Wooster 10-0. Later in the day the Raiders fell in the finale to Reno 8-5, despite two hits and two RBIs from Scott Cameron.
Reed played Damonte Ranch yesterday and will play them again tomorrow at 3:45 p.m. at Lee Mitchell Field before playing at Bishop Manogue on Saturday.
