The Reed High baseball team split a doubleheader with Bishop Manogue last Tuesday, falling 13-1 in game one before rebounding with a 4-2 win. Raiders senior Will Bannister was impressive on the mound in the win with over six innings of work, five strikeouts, three hits and one earned run. Greg Oltman and Kameron Soubiea each had three hits in the win.
The boys traveled to California over the weekend for the 2018 Anahiem Lions Springs tournament where they started 2-1 over the first three games.
David Goodman led the Raiders to victory on Saturday against West, Calif. 6-5 with five and a third innings of work and one earned run.
Isaac Tecson had three hits and two RBIs and Scott Cameron had a pair of hits and three RBIs on Monday in a 13-1 win over Newberg out of Oregon. The boys went on to lose 4-1 in the afternoon to La Habra, Calif. despite two hits from Brandon Biggs.
Reed finished up the tourney with games on Tuesday and Wednesday and will return to Northern Nevada and conference play when they play at Douglas next Tuesday, host Douglas on Thursday and Wooster Saturday.
