Reed
The Raiders got a pair of league wins last week against North Valleys but fell to first place Reno twice on Saturday. Reed jumped out to early leads in both games against the Panthers and won 11-1 last Tuesday and 6-0 on Thursday.
The Huskies visited the Raiders on Saturday and came away with a 7-1 win in game one. The game was tight most of the morning before Reno struck for five runs in the sixth to come away with the win. Will Bannister gave up just two earned runs for Reed over five innings of work in the loss. Scott Cameron had the only RBI for the home team.
Game two was all Reno as the Huskies scored in every inning on the way to a 15-4 win. Cameron led Reed with two hits while Greg Oltman, Brandon Biggs and Trae DeLeon all had RBI singles.
The losses dropped Reed (17-9, 10-6) into sixth place in the Sierra League with six games to play.
Spanish Springs
The Cougar baseball team finished the week 2-2 last week and now sit in seven place in the Sierra League standings.
Spanish Springs fell in a pair of close games to McQueen, 7-5 last Tuesday and 5-4 on Thursday, The boys rebounded with 10-0 and 14-4 home wins over North Valleys on Saturday.
The Cougs (12-9, 9-7) played at Hug yesterday and will host them tomorrow at 3:45 p.m. before playing a first place Reno twice on Saturday.
