September 8, 2015 By Nathan Shoup Leave a Comment

Spanish Springs and Reed finished second and fourth respectively in Tuesday’s High Desert League girls golf tournament at Hidden Valley Country Club.

The Cougars turned in a four-golfer team score of 359, 17 strokes behind Reno which has claimed both HDL tourneys this fall. Reed’s 410 was 34 strokes behind McQueen.

Jada McAlister’s 78 led the Cougars. She was followed by Emma Gilmore (81) and Ciara Hornbarger (99). Grace Bartlett and Katie Gilbertson both shot a 101.

Reed was led by freshman Kaitlin Fleiner, daughter of coach Danielle Fleiner, who carded an 88. The Raiders also kept the scores of Abby Horner (104), Mackenzie Howren (107) and Rachel Rhoads (111).

McQueen’s Alice Duan won medalist honors for the second-straight tournament with 73.

The High Desert League Tournament circuit continues next Wednesday at Sierra Sage Golf Course.
