The Spanish Springs volleyball team was no match for Bishop Manogue, arguably the best team in the DI North, Thursday night in a 25-12, 25-18, 25-16 home loss to the Miners.
With the loss, the Cougars dropped to 10-4, 2-1 in DI North meetings. The Miners remained a perfect 12-0, 3-0.
Emily Moore led the Cougs with nine kills. Halie Smith had six.
Spanish Springs will try to bounce back from the loss next Tuesday when it hosts another tough Seirra League foe, Carson, at 6 p.m.
Raiders swept in Carson
Reed didn’t have much more luck than its rivals up Pyramid Way Thursday night, getting swept on the road by a tough Carson team.
The Senators improved to 9-1, 2-0 with 25-8, 25-13, 25-13 rout of Reed (0-4, 0-2).
The Raiders host Damonte Ranch on Tuesday in the home opener.
