The Sparks Police Department held its annual Christmas Party for 44 senior citizens enrolled in the Senior Phone Patrol.
Thanks to donations from area businesses, each senior received a Christmas gift from Santa. The party also featured a meal prepared by Carolina Kitchen & BBQ Company and music.
The Senior Phone Patrol program is a free service provided to seniors and disabled residents in Sparks. The program places a phone call each day to check on the welfare of its members. The police department offers the program to minimize the time members would have to wait for emergency medical help in the event they become sick or injured, and are unable to get to the phone to call for help.
If you or someone you know are interested in this program, please contact the Sparks Police Department front desk at (775) 353-2248 for more information or to enroll.
