The DI prep softball season begins Thursday with seven local teams (Spanish Springs, Reno, Wooster, Carson, McQueen, Reed and Galena) climbing the hill to compete in Sacramento tournaments.
Before league play begins next week, The Sparks Tribune asked the region’s coaches how they feel the DI North will sort out this spring.
Here’s how they responded:
1. Reed 130 (10)
2. Spanish Springs 113
3. Bishop Manogue 105
4. Reno 102 (1)
T5. Galena 77
T5. Douglas 77
7. Damonte Ranch 71
8. McQueen 68
9. Carson 40
10. Wooster 33
11. North Valleys 31
12. Hug 12
Number in parentheses represent first place votes. Because there are 12 DI North teams, a first place vote is worth 12 points, a second place vote is worth 11, a third place vote is worth 10, etc.
The Galena coach did not answer countless phone calls.
