Another one.
The Reed baseball team extended its season-opening winning another game on Tuesday night with an 8-3 win at Carson under the lights.
With the victory, the Raiders improved to 9-0, 4-0 in the DI North and completed the regular-season sweep of the Senators (6-3, 2-2) after walking off with a home win on Saturday.
Ben Peck was responsible for the walk off hit three days prior, and he had another big game on Tuesday. Peck, a senior catcher, went 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI and three runs scored.
Trailing 3-2 after four innings, Reed surged in front in the top of the fifth with a four spot.
Austin Beard drove in Vinnie Fillapone with an RBI single before Peck plated Lincoln Turner with an RBI double, putting the Raiders in front for good. Two batters later, Levi Sanchez gave the guest an insurance run, driving in Beard with an RBI single.
Peck eventually scored the final run of the frame on a Tayton Clabaugh fielder’s choice.
Reed added single runs in the sixth and seventh to pad the cushion.
In the sixth, Brandon Kernon hit a two-out double and came around to score when Turner, the next batter up, smacked a single.
In the seventh, Peck started the inning off with a single and scored two batters later.
Austin Johnson came out of the bullpen and threw a scoreless final 3.2 innings and pick up the win. He struck out four.
The Raiders will look to remain unbeaten on Thursday when they host Wooster at 3:45 p.m.
