In celebration of Earth Day, One Nevada Credit Union is hosting a free, community shred day at its Damonte branch. The public event will be held on Friday, April 22 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 57 Damonte Ranch Parkway, Unit D, just a few doors down from Doughboy’s Doughnuts in the Walmart parking lot.
This is an opportunity for anyone in the local community to safely and properly dispose of up to three boxes of personal documents, to include recyclable paper products, envelopes and newspapers. The shred event is free, but One Nevada has partnered with local non-profit organization, Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful (KTMB), to collect donations. A voluntary, suggested donation of $3 will go toward helping KTMB with beautification and advocacy efforts for a clean, local community.
“We are excited to be able to give our members and the community a free opportunity to dispose of confidential documents, while also doing our part to help promote responsible environmental practices,” says Dana Pavlu, Damonte branch manager. We encourage the community to donate to KTMB so the non-profit can continue their important work in maintaining the natural beauty of the Truckee Meadows.”
In addition to free shredding services, the One Nevada “Bucky” mascot will be handing out goodies to children. We will also be holding a raffle drawing for anyone who makes a donation to Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful.
