In partnership with 39 North Downtown, a local grassroots organization that aims to bolster the local economy, the Sparks Tribune will present “2016 Sparks Primary Candidates Night” this evening.
The event held at the Downtown Amphitheater will expose the public to 11 candidates who are running in five different local races.
From the election for County Commissioner District 4, Vaughn Hartung and Maruice Washington will attend. From the election for City Council Ward No. 1, candidates Donald Abbott, Adam Khan and Denise Lopes will participate. In the race for the City Council Ward No. 3 spot, Ron Smith and John Rhoads will be present. Kristopher Dahir and John Walters, who are both running for the City Council Ward No. 5 char, will attend. And in the Justice of the Peace election, Matt Lee and Jessica Longley will participate.
A reception at 5:30 p.m. at the Outdoor B Street Cafe precedes the event at 6 p.m., which will end with a question and answer session with the candidates.
Sparks Tribune Publisher Gary Cook will moderate, along with 2014 Reno mayoral candidate, Eddie Lorton.
