Spanish Springs volleyball coach Frank Sandomenico was concerned his team would have a letdown after an emotional sweep of Douglas on Tuesday.
Early on Thursday at home against Galena, it appeared he may be right. The Cougs and Grizzlies were locked in an 18-18 
Spanish Springs claimed seven of the next eight points, however, and went on to roll to another sweep, 25-19, 25-11, 25-13.
The Cougs improved to 18-3, 5-0 in the 4A North. The Grizzlies dropped to 5-5, 2-2.
Emily Moore led the way with 13 kills. Jordyn Boswell had 11. Mackenzie O’Connell got on the stat sheet in all five categories, finishing with 27 assists, four kills, three digs, three aces and a block.
Spanish Springs continues 4A North play on Tuesday at Damonte Ranch.
Raiders remain winless in 4A North play
Reed fell to 2-9, 0-4 in the 4A North with a 20-25, 13-25, 12-25 home loss to Douglas on Thursday night.
First-year coach Amy Morris liked what she saw though.
“(We) played our butts off, good things are starting to happen,” she said.
The Raiders will look for their first 4A North win on Tuesday at Wooster.
