Please join the Sparks Fire Department for a pancake breakfast and fun-filled open house as we kick off National Fire Prevention Week, Saturday Oct. 8. Drop by the main fire station between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m. for pancakes, ham, eggs, juice, milk and coffee served by our own city leaders and firefighters, for the low cost of only $5 for adults and $2 for children and seniors.
An array of events will include a Live Kitchen Fire Demonstration, “Jaws of Life” Vehicle Extrication, Kids Fire Safety Puppet Show, Tours of the Fire Station, Raffle, and Static Displays.
Parking for the event will be located at the west Nugget parking lot off of Victorian Plaza Circle. Free shuttle service will be provided by the Boys and Girls Club of Northern Nevada – Look for their shuttle bus.
For running advocates, please join our 3rd Annual 1st Alarm 5K Walk/Run prior to the Pancake Breakfast. Registration begins at 6:30 am in the west Nugget parking lot and the Walk/Run promptly begins at 7:30am. The cost is $35, which includes the walk/run and a ticket to the Pancake Breakfast.
