Greater Nevada Credit Union’s Spanish Springs branch, located at 1101 Los Altos Parkway in Sparks, is hosting its 10th annual Salvation Army Angel Tree.
The Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program provides new clothing and toys for children in need. Each Angel Tree is decorated with paper angel tags with the first name, age, and gender of a child who is in need of a gift. Contributors remove one or more tags from the tree and purchase appropriate gifts for the child or children described on the tags.
Community members are invited to stop by the branch through Dec. 9 to pick up an “Angel Tag” from the tree and then return their donations to the GNCU Spanish Springs branch for collection and distribution by the Salvation Army.
In addition, the Spanish Springs branch will donate food baskets to the Children’s Cabinet and Northern Nevada Children’s Cancer Foundation. Both organizations provide meals for families in need and who would otherwise be without a holiday meal.
