The 4A North in the Miners’ region and everyone else is just playing in it.
Bishop Manogue beat No. 2 Reno on Thursday, 69-59, and now has a very realistic shot at another 16-0 run through regional play.

1. Bishop Manogue Miners (7-0, 4-0)
After just four games this season, the Miners already have a three-game lead over the rest of the Sierra League.
Carson, Douglas, Galena and Wooster are all 1-3 in regional play while Damonte Ranch is 0-4.
The Miners can already start thinking about ordering that league title banner.

2. Reno Huskies (7-3, 3-1)
The Huskies rebounded from the loss at Bishop Manogue with a 49-13 win over Damonte Ranch on Friday night.
Reno is still the class the High Desert League, but will face some tough competition this winter. McQueen, Reed and Spanish Springs are a combined 11-1 in 4A North play.

3. Reed Raiders (4-2, 3-1)
Reed outscored Carson and Douglas by a combined score of 145-71 last week.
Can the Raiders catch Reno, though? That’s one of the more intriguing questions of the season.

4. McQueen Lancers (7-3, 4-0)
Like much of the High Desert League, McQueen has beat up on a down Sierra League (other than Bishop Manogue).
Juniors Kaila Spevak (11 points per game) and Izzy Warren (12.2 ppg) have provided a consistent source of offense.

5. Spanish Springs Cougars (6-3, 4-0)
The Cougars are riding a five-game winning streak. The last time they did that? 2013-14.
Spanish Springs advanced to the regional semifinals that year with an upset win at Douglas in the regional quarterfinals.
