This time next week we’ll be breaking down the regional tournament matchups.
Until then, the High Desert League needs to sort out its final two playoff teams. Reed and McQueen are tied at 6-8 in regional play with Hug still mathematically alive, two games back of both.
In the Sierra League, Carson and Bishop Manogue are tied for second (and the right to host a first-round playoff game) at 10-4. The Senators host Wooster tonight and play at Douglas on Friday. The Miners close with road games at Damonte Ranch and Wooster.
Douglas is locked into the Sierra League No. 4 spot.

1. Spanish Springs Cougars (19-4, 14-0)
Kyle Penney has turned Spanish Springs into one of the premier programs in Northern Nevada.
This is his most talented team, however, and on Friday the Cougs celebrated just their second league title. Their first was just two years ago, in 2015.

2. Galena Grizzlies (20-4, 12-2)
The Grizzlies also clinched a league title on Friday night.
Galena played in an incredibly tough environment at Bishop Manogue and left with a 58-54 win. They’ve now won seven straight.

3. Bishop Manogue Miners (15-9, 10-4)
It was almost one of the most impressive two-game stretches of any team in the 4A North.
After 51-48 home win over Carson last Tuesday night, the Miners threw everything at the Grizzlies before coming up short in a four-point defeat.
They remain a serious regional title contender.

4. Reno Huskies (17-5, 11-3)
The Huskies easily disposed of Reed and North Valleys last week.
Tonight’s home game against Spanish Springs has the potential to be one of the season’s best games, unfortunately it won’t mean anything in the standings. Spanish Springs is locked into the HDL No. 1 seed, Reno the No. 2.
Last week: 5
5. Carson Senators (10-11, 10-4)
After beating every 4A North team on the way to last year’s regional title, the Senators aren’t exactly sprinting into this postseason.
Following consecutive road losses to Galena and Bishop Manogue, Carson struggled with Damonte Ranch at home on Friday night before pulling out a 59-53 win.
