Damonte Ranch evens Spanish Springs’ record at 2-2 with 35-3 road win

The defending 4A North champs entered with the region’s highest-scoring offense, averaging almost 43 points a game in their first three contests of the season, and are led by junior quarterback Cade McNamara, who’s verbally committed to Notre Dame.
Points for the home team did not come. Spanish Springs could not find the end zone for the second time this season and sunk to 2-2 with a 35-3 home loss. Damonte Ranch (4-0) remained unblemished.
The Cougars defense was impressive early as both teams played the first 12 minutes to a scoreless tie.
Spanish Springs will try to conclude non-league play with a winning record next Friday at Galena (2-2). The Grizzles were handled on the road Friday night at Reno, 41-14.
The Cougars won last year’s matchup, 36-22, at Spanish Springs.
