Tristan Hussey makes a diving catch for Spanish Springs during a loss to Reed last week.
Reed knocked off Spanish Springs twice last week to finish tied with the Cougs in the final league standings at 13-9 each. However, the Cougs own the tiebreaker and will enter this week’s playoffs as the sixth seed while the Raiders took the seventh.
The Cougs won a road game last Wednesday to beat the Raiders 11-4 before winning 8-6 at home on Thursday in the final regular season game. The teams could meet again today if they both win their games that took place yesterday after press time.
Reed faced off against the No. 2 seed Bishop Manoge while Spanish Springs played the No. 3 seed Damonte Ranch. The championship game is set for Saturday at Galena High.
