The Reno Aces lost a pair of games to Las Vegas over the weekend after winning its previous four games to get over the .500 mark briefly. Overall, the club finished the week (July 16-22) 4-3 after winning three of four at home over Tacoma and dropping two of three to the 51’s.
Reno shortstop Ildemaro Vargas extended his hit streak to a season-best 22 games on Sunday with a double.
Up next, the Aces are on the road this week for three games at New Orleans and four at Round Rock before returning home on Aug. 1. They sit a 50-51 on the season, just one game behind Tacoma for second place in the PCL Pacific Northern division. Fresno remains in first place by seven games with a record of 58-43.
