Senior Terae Briggs recorded her fourth double-double of the season Saturday as the Nevada women’s basketball team suffered an 86-67 loss to Texas Tech.
For Briggs, her 18-point, 13-rebound performance marked her third consecutive double-double, leading the Wolf Pack (2-7) in both categories. She finished 5-of-10 from the field and was perfect from the free throw line, hitting 8-of-8. She also added three steals, two blocks and a career-high six assists to her day in 37 minutes played. The Pack had three others reach double figures in the game as junior Camariah King scored 13 and freshmen Amaya West and Da’Ja Hamilton each contributed 12, a career high for Hamilton.
The Pack got off to a slow start in the first quarter, which proved to be the difference in the game. The Red Raiders (6-2) used 52.2 percent shooting, and held the Pack to just 25 percent, to jump out to a 27-12 lead after the first 10 minutes of play.
