
Reno’s Skylar Hales slide safely home with the winning run ahead of an attempted tag by Spanish Springs Pitcher Connor Culp Saturday.
After winning six straight to open the season. the Cougs took their first loss of the year Saturday after falling to Reno 3-2.
Spanish Springs blanked Douglas on the road Thursday, 10-0.
The Cougs (6-1, 1-1) hosted McQueen yesterday and play at Galena tomorrow before hitting the road for a tournament in California this weekend.

The Raiders picked up a pair of wins over the weekend after falling 7-1 to Bishop Manogue on Thursday.
Casey Burfield turned in a gem on the mound Saturday, striking out seven and walking just one on five hits over seven innings in a 1-0 win at Douglas. Jordan Oliver knocked in the only run of the ballgame for Reed in the fourth inning.
The Raiders won 7-3 at Nevada Union on Friday and had two hits each by TJ Rogers, Noah Roth, Scott Cameron and Isaac Tecson.
Reed (5-3, 1-1) played at Wooster yesterday and hosts Damonte Ranch tomorrow.
