The City of Sparks has completed several projects at the Alf Sorensen Community Center and is resuming all water activities beginning this week.
“We would like to thank everyone for their patience as we made the necessary upgrades to keep our facility properly maintained for our community,” said Nancy O’Connor, Parks and Recreation Director. “We are thrilled to welcome back lap swimmers and swim teams this week, with all regular swim activities resuming March 4.”
The City drained and power washed the pool, installed new filters and water heaters, made repairs to pump equipment, and replaced the HVAC system in the lobby and gym. The gym will also reopen Monday, March 4, for basketball and pickleball. The weight room and preschool program are estimated to resume in April 2024.
