In a media release Friday afternoon, Nevada’s junior Sen. Jacky Rosen vowed to block the confirmation of President Donald Trump’s nominee for U.S. Attorney for Nevada, Sigal Chattah.
Nevada needs a U.S. Attorney who will uphold and enforce the law fairly and equally. Sigal Chattah is an extremist who is deeply unfit for this role,” said Senator Rosen. “Chattah’s disturbing past statements promising to use any public office to go after her political opponents, as well as her well-documented history of racist remarks, conspiracy theories, and threats of violence, prove that she cannot be trusted with this important responsibility. If she’s ever nominated to a permanent Senate-confirmed position, I’ll do everything in my power to block her confirmation.”
Sigal Chattah is a prominent Republican attorney and former candidate for state attorney general. She is expected to assume the position on an interim basis on April 1.
Sen. Rosen’s press release did not provide further details about her claim that Chattah is a racist.
