| On 7/21/25 at 3:00 a.m., officers from the Sparks Police Department responded to the area of Rock Blvd. and 15th St. on the report of a vehicle that crashed into an apartment building. Officers arrived and found a vehicle had collided with an apartment building causing moderate damage. A subsequent investigation revealed that the driver- identified as 18-year-old Noe LARA-MARQUEZ was travelling northbound on Rock Blvd. approaching the intersection with 15th St. at a high rate of speed. LARA-MARQUEZ lost control of the vehicle and collided with a jersey barrier along the east side of Rock Blvd. The vehicle slid along the barrier, fell to one side, crashed through a fence and collided with the apartment building. Two additional apartments were struck with flying debris causing damage. No injuries were reported by residents of the complex or the driver. LARA-MARQUEZ was arrested and booked into the Washoe County Jail on the following charges:DUI-AlcoholMinor in consumption of alcoholDriving without a driver’s licenseFailure to maintain laneNo further information will be released regarding this incident. |
