Earthstone Fire near Sparks burns 41,000 acres; almost contained
As multiple wildfires continue to burn in Northern Nevada and California, the Earthstone Fire by Golden Eagle Regional Park was 80 percent contained on Monday, according to Sparks Fire Division Chief Shawn McEvers. Golden Eagle Regional Park off Homerun Drive near Vista Boulevard in Sparks was closed Monday afternoon after a wildfire broke out in the hills surrounding the area.
