Star Spangled Sparks is back for two nights of Independence Day celebrations and fireworks in Victorian Square July 1 and 4.
From 4 to 11 p.m. on both nights, the community and guests can enjoy a spectacular display of light and action set off from the Nugget Casino Resort’s rooftop to celebrate USA’s birthday.
Instead of an all-day party on July 3, the Nugget Casino Resort is switching it up with two days of events- the All-American Block Party on July 1 and Star Spangled Sparks on July 4.
The All-American Block Party in Victorian Square will feature live music, crafts, food vendors, and fireworks. Rebel Foul from Las Vegas will be playing classic American rock music with a soulful, Southern country twist on the main stage at 5 p.m. The party and fireworks displace is free and open to the public, however, $50 tickets are available for the VIP Fireworks Viewing Party with premium seating across from the Nugget and a picnic-style barbecue with hamburgers, hot dogs, side dishes, desserts and complimentary drinks. Tickets are available to purchase for both July 1 and 4 events at www.nuggetresort.com.tix.
Along with displaying fireworks on Independence Day, the July 1 and 4 events are also celebrating the all-new Nugget. As part of its $25 million makeover, the Nugget will be unveiling renovated guest rooms in the west tower, a newly renovated convention center, and fitness center.
The party continues on July 4 with Star Spangled Sparks events and a costumed patriotic bike parade kicking off at 6 p.m., riding into Victorian Square along with local fire engines. Registration for the bike parade is open at 4pm for kids and their families followed by Reno band Left of Centre playing at 5 p.m.
The Nugget will be offering its club members free entry into a $5,000 Red, White & Blue Slot Tournament from 12 p.m. to 12 a.m. on July 3 and a Play and Earn Gift Promotion Day on July 4.
Nugget Marketing and Communications Coordinator Caddie Dufurrena has been a longtime resident and attendee of Star Spangled Sparks and her favorite event is always the fireworks.
“We partner with KOH and do a live simulcast to the fireworks- that’s my favorite part,” Dufurrena says. “No matter where you are throughout the city or where your vantage point is, you can enjoy them,” she adds.
The fireworks will be launched from the Nugget’s rooftop at 9:45 p.m. on both July 1 and July 4. For more information, visit https://www.facebook.com/nuggetstarspangledsparks/.
