The Cougars opened the season 6-1 last weekend at the Yerington Invitational.
Spanish Springs crammed seven matches into two days, Friday and Saturday. All matches were best-of-three contests.
Not one match, however, took a third set as the Cougs swept in six of their wins and were swept in their only loss.
The six wins nearly accounted for all of the wins the team had a season ago when it finished 8-20 overall and fourth in the High Desert League.
On Friday, the Cougs swept Lovelock, Smith Valley and Spring Creek.
On Saturday, Spanish Springs swept Portola (Calif.) and Lowry before getting handed their first loss of the season by Dayton. It finished the weekend with a 25-20, 25-20 win over Mammoth (Calif.).
Spanish Springs opens league play Tuesday night at home against North Valleys. First serve is at 6 p.m.
