Reed’s slow start to the season continued Thursday night with a 25-19, 25-17, 26-24 home loss to Douglas.
The Raiders are still looking for their first win of the season at 0-6, 0-4 in the DI North. The Tigers improved to 9-4, 3-1.
Reed had 16 kills as a team, led by four a piece from Jensen Paris and Anna King. Ashley Leighton got up 14 digs.
Reed will continue its quest for win No. 1 Tuesday night at Galena.
Cougs drop tough one at Damonte
The Cougars pushed Damonte on the road Thursday night but grabbed the short end in a 28-26, 25-20, 26-24 loss.
Spanish Springs fell to 12-9, 2-3 in the DI North. Damonte Ranch improved to 6-5, 3-1.
Junior outside hitter Emily Moore’s monster night was for not, finishing with a team-high 14 kills. Ireland Bennett put down eight.
The stat nights by Moore and Bennett were a result of strong setting from Mackenzie O’Connell who dished out 29 assists.
Spanish Springs will try to snap its two-game skid next Tuesday when it travels to Douglas.
