Reed and Carson both won on Friday but a new team sits atop the DI North Power Rankings this week.
The Senators’ offense continues to roll while the defense is matching the offense’s dominance. Reed’s offense continues to look strong but those in the Reed camp can’t be overly excited about what they’ve seen from the Raiders’ defense.
The Raiders have an intriguing non-league matchup Friday with Oak Ridge (Calif.) but the most intriguing matchup is at Damonte Ranch where the No. 3 Mustangs will host No. 4 Reno.
1. Carson Senators (2-1)
For the first time this year, there is a shuffling atop the weekly power rankings. Carson absolutely rolled McQueen a week ago and looked dominant again Friday night against North Valleys. The offense is clicking. The defense is becoming tightening up. And the Senators are one bad half of football away from potentially being 3-0 this year.
Next game: Friday at Spanish Springs
Last week: 2
2. Reed Raiders (3-0)
Reed seems to be developing a habit this season of resting on its laurels. The Raiders have jumped to early leads in all three of their games this fall before fighting off rallies, especially the last two weeks. The defense looked better Friday night but holes still exist.
Next game: Friday vs. Oak Ridge (Calif.)

3. Damonte Ranch (1-2)
The Mustangs gave Placer, a California power, a pretty good scare Friday night on the road but weren’t able to complete the upset. For the second-straight week, the defense wasn’t able to make enough plays in the fourth quarter.
Next game: Friday vs. Reno
Last week: 3
4. Reno Huskies (2-1)
After scoring just 16 total points the first two games of the season, Reno finally broke out Friday night, dropping 46 points on Douglas. We’ll know a lot more about the Huskies, and the DI North hierarchy, following this week’s Reno-Damonte Ranch matchup.
Next game: Friday at Damonte Ranch

5. McQueen Lancers (1-1)
McQueen was idle last week which was much better than the 59-14 home loss to Carson two weeks ago.
Next game: Friday at Bishop Manogue
Last week: 5
