
Sparks scored three second-half goals Saturday on its way to a convincing 4-0 home win over Spring Creek.
The win was the Railroaders’ (8-1, 4-0) sixth-straight.
Sparks continues DI-A North play Wednesday at Fallon.
Galena too much for Reed
Reed traveled to Galena Saturday afternoon and fell 3-1.
Forward Dayton Farrow scored the Raiders only goal, late in the second half, in the 74th minute.
“We have to work on communication everywhere on the field,” Farrow said.
Galena’s Jonathan Mendoza scored a goal in the 15th minute which insured the Grizzlies lead after the first half. Late in the second half, Galena scored two goals, one from Thomas Cooper in the 70th minute, and a third a minute later from Jesus Medina.
“We build on what we did today. Come league game time, we come in 100 percent,” Reed coach Joel Martinez said.
Reed (2-2-1, 2-2-1) hosts Wooster next Wednesday.
Spanish Springs, Douglas can’t score
Spanish Springs settled for a scoreless tie Saturday afternoon at Douglas.
The Cougars now sit at 2-2-1, 2-2-1 in league play. The Tigers moved to 4-2-2, 2-1-2 after also playing Reed to a scoreless tie on Tuesday.
Spanish Springs goes to Galena on Wednesday for a 3:30 p.m. start.
