The Railroaders’ losing streak reached three games Monday night with a 2-0 defeat at Hug.
With the loss, Sparks dropped to 3-4-2, 3-3-0. Hug picked up just its second win of the season compared with seven losses.
Sparks was blanked despite taking 18 shots compared to Hug’s eight.
“We could not buy a goal to save our lives,” Sparks coach Art Hurtado said.
The Railroaders handed the Hawks their first goal, 15 minutes in, with an own goal. Hug doubled the lead in the 30th minute.
Sparks goes to Dayton (1-9-1, 0-5-1) on Friday.
