Spanish Springs had no problem with Hug on Tuesday night at home, sweeping the Hawks, 25-6, 25-3, 25-19.
The Cougars kept pace with first-place McQueen, improving to 15-9, 5-3 in the DI North. Hug has not won a league match this fall.

The lopsided contest allowed Spanish Springs coach Frank Sandomenico to clear his bench as nine different players recorded a kill—led by Ireland Bennett’s six.
Ryan Hauder, Sami Szachara and Jordyn Boswell each chipped in four point finishers.
Mackenzie O’Connell was a block shy of getting in all five stat categories. She turned in 21 assists, six aces, three kills and two digs.
The Cougars travel to Reno on Thursday.
Raiders swept at McQueen
Reed’s nightmarish start to the season continued Tuesday night with a 25-13, 25-11, 25-15 loss at McQueen.
The Raiders, which fell to 0-10, 0-8, have been swept in all of their contests this season. The Lancers improved to 10-9, 5-2.
Ashley Leighton got up 11 digs for the Raiders in the loss.
Reed will again try to pick up its first win on Thursday night at home against Hug—which is also winless.
