Hug hurdles Reed, 4-1
By Ty Pimienta, reporting intern
The Raiders (3-8-2, 2-8-2) postseason hopes took a blow on Saturday with a 4-1 home loss to Hug.
In the 20th minute, Hug’s Jaffet Corona scored the first goal of the match. Then Hug’s Eric Alvarado scored the second goal in the 24th
Dayton Farrow scored Reed’s only goal of the match in the 28th to cut the early deficit to 2-1 but the Raiders were outscored 2-0 the rest of the way.
“Well, I felt that it was like a boost to everyone’s confidence and especially to mine,” Farrow said. “But it doesn’t help when like you get scored on again. So it turned out to be nothing, but at the moment it was a boost of confidence.”
“He (Farrow) is our leading scorer,” Reed coach Joel Martinez said. “But we can’t just depend on one person to do that, not bringing him down or anything, but we have to play more complete overall as a team and keep on creating opportunities.”
Reed hosts North Valleys on Wednesday.
