A pumpkin heads down the elevated runway toward its owner at the finish line during the annual Pumpkin Derby, part of Sunday’s PumpkinPalooza activities at Victorian Square. Organizers said the event, which benefits the Northern Nevada Center for Independent Living, attracted about 8,500 people to downtown Sparks.
