1. Galena Grizzlies (4-0)
The reigning DI North champs started the season 4-0 last week, including an impressive 76-60 win over McQueen, which many believe could challenge for a league title. Dillon Voyles and Zach Williams are both scoring more than 21 points per game early in the season.

2. Spanish Springs Cougars (3-1)
The Cougars went 2-1 in the Napa Wine Classic last weekend. Their lone loss came in the final moments in game that was certainly winnable. A huge early-season week for the Cougs looms. They host Carson on Tuesday, Bishop Manogue on Thursday and Moreau Catholic on Friday. Gauntlet.

3. Bishop Manogue (3-1)
After losing 11 seniors to graduation, it would have been easy to assume the Miners were going to fall back a bit this season. Early indications suggest that won’t be the case. They finished second in the Wild West Shootout, a perennially tough tournament they host.

4. Carson Senators (1-2)
The Senators finished fourth in a tough tournament in San Francisco over the weekend.

5. McQueen Lancers (3-1)
The Lancers are off to a solid start but in their first real test, at Galena, they were handled 76-60.
