Tribune file photo by John Byrne – Marcus Loadholt (in white) and the Cougs remained No. 4 after handling Damonte by 30 on the road last week. The Miners, who beat Spanish Springs earlier this season (pictured), remained No. 2 after splitting a pair of games in California.

1. Carson Senators (8-5)

The Senators went 1-3 in last weekend’s Tarkanian Classic in Las Vegas. The losses against quality competition from all around the region don’t take away from the fact the Senators have the most weapons in Northern Nevada.

Last Week: 1

2. Bishop Manogue (5-4)

The Miners split a pair of games last weekend in a California Showcaase.

Last Week: 2

3. Reno Huskies (6-4)

The Huskies put themselves in a good spot early in the season, besting Galena at home at Douglas on the road.

Last Week: Not Ranked

4. Spanish Springs Cougars (4-4)

The Cougs snapped their three-game skid in convincing fashion on Friday night, rolling Damonte Ranch, 72-42. And that was with starters watching the majority of the second half.

Last Week: 4

5. McQueen Lancers (8-3)

The Lancers picked up a quality win over Galena on Thursday, 60-57, but nearly suffered a hangover loss the next night, hanging on to best Wooster by seven.

Last Week: Not Ranked

Needs to get in the gym: Galena
