The Sparks boys’ losing streak reached six games with a 63-53 non-league loss at Reno on Wednesday night.
The Railroaders fell to 1-6 after winning their season-opener over Wooster. The Huskies improved to 7-4.
Sparks trailed 22-7 after the first quarter and wasn’t able to make up the gap despite a strong showing from Ricky Guadron. The senior finished with a team-high 17 points on 4-of-6 shooting from behind the arc. The rest of the team was just 4-of-18 from deep.
Danny Lopez had 10 points. Matt Longland had eight.
Sparks trailed 32-18 at the break before narrowly outscoring Reno in the second half, 35-31, getting stuck with the 10-point road loss.
The Railroaders, who played their final non-league game of the season, now shift their attention to DI-A North play starting Tuesday at home against Spring Creek. Tip is at 4 p.m.
