1. Carson Senators (21-5, 16-0)
They didn’t make it easy down the stretch, having to grind out wins over Galena and Douglas, but the Senators made it the whole regular season without falling to a DI North team. Whether going undefeated works out in their favor or not, remains to be seen.
Last Week: 1
2. Bishop Manogue Miners (14-9, 11-5)
Nobody is going to be excited to see the Miners this week. With the ability to put up points in a hurry via the long ball, Manogue has just as good a shot as anyone at the regional title.
Last Week: 2
3. Reno Huskies (18-6, 14-2)
No Mike Heydon? No problem. At least for now. Reno went to McQueen on Friday with nothing to play for other than pride, while the Lancers were playing for the right to host a home playoff game, and came from behind for a 69-60 win. That’s an impressive win heading into the tournament
Last Week: 4
4. Galena Grizzlies (16-10, 10-6)
Galena won both its games last week but drops a spot due simply to Reno’s win at McQueen. The defending DI North champs had a slow start to the season, sitting at 4-5 in DI North play at one point, but have made a statement since.
Last Week: 3
5. Spanish Springs Cougars (16-8, 12-4)
The Cougars played arguably their best game of the season on Friday night at Reed. So long as they advance, the Cougs have the advantage of playing at home throughout the playoffs. Last time they hosted (2014), they advanced to the program’s first DI North title game.
