RTC offering free rides on St. Patrick’s Day

March 15, 2016 By Submitted Leave a Comment

For the 13th year, the Regional Transportation Commission of Washoe is offering free rides on its transit services to provide safe transportation for people celebrating St. Patrick’s Day.

All regularly scheduled transit services will be free on St. Patrick’s Day from 4 p.m. to midnight. Additionally, the downtown circulator bus, the RTC Sierra Spirit, will have extended hours. Typically, the service stops at 7 p.m., but on St. Patrick’s Day it will operate until midnight.

“This is a great way for people to be safe and responsible, but it’s also an opportunity for people who may not have ridden the bus before to try it out for the first time,” RTC Executive Director Lee Gibson said.
