The Railroaders fell at home to Spring Creek on Friday morning before heading up to South Tahoe and picking up their first win of the season, 11-4.
Sparks, which snapped a season-opening six-game losing streak with the win over South Tahoe, now sits at 1-6, 1-6 in the DI North.
It will now try to piece together its first winning streak of the season with a doubleheader at South Tahoe (2-5, 2-5) starting Saturday morning.
Sparks 11, South Tahoe 4
The Railroaders jumped out to a 6-1 lead after two innings and rolled to their first win of the season Friday afternoon at South Tahoe.
Marisa Coleman went 4-for-5 with a triple, a double, 2 RBIs and three runs scored. She also pitched a scoreless first four innings without surrendering a hit to pick up the win.
Spring Creek 15, Sparks 8
After both teams scored six times in the fourth inning, Sparks trailed just 10-8.
However, the Railroaders weren’t able to push another run across and were stuck with a seven-run loss to the Spartans (8-5, 6-3).
Sparks was outhit 17-6, benefiting from 10 walks and two hit by pitches.
Coleman was 1-for-2 with an RBI and two runs scored.
