Boys Soccer: Spanish Springs, Reed come up short in openers

The Cougars opened were unable to find the goal in Wednesday’s home opener against Wooster, suffering a 2-0 loss.

Both Colts goals came in the first half.

Spanish Springs (0-1, 0-1) will attempt to pick up win No. 1 next Wednesday at Carson, the defending state champion.


Reed lets early lead slip to Damonte

Coco Capilla and Cesar Rivera both scored first-half goals in Reed’s first game of the season on Wednesday at home against Damonte Ranch.

The two goals put the Raiders up 2-1 at the half.

Then the second half happened.

The Mustangs scored four unanswered and stole a 5-2 victory.

Reed (0-1, 0-1) goes to Bishop Manogue next Wednesday.
