Spanish Springs won its second straight on Wednesday night, besting Galena, 2-0, at home.
The Cougars improved to 2-2-0, 2-2-0.
Wilmer Hernandez put the Cougs up 1-0 in the ninth minute, but the lead was short-lived. The Grizzlies knotted things at 1-1 just four minutes later.
Anibal Gonzales scored what proved to be the game winner in the 31st minute, nine minutes before halftime.
Spanish Springs will go for its third straight win on Saturday when it goes to Damonte Ranch.
Raiders, Tigers play to 2-2 tie
Reed scored a pair of second half goals on Wednesday at home against Douglas and earned a point with a 2-2 draw.
The Raiders moved to 1-2-2, 1-2-1 in 4A North play with the draw.
Both of Reed’s goals came late. Dayton Farrow found the net in the 72nd minute and Cesar Rivera followed Farrow four minutes later.
The Tigers held a 1-0 lead at the half.
Reed will go to Wooster, the defending state runner up, on Saturday.
