Excel Christian is on a three-game winning streak to start the season.
The Warriors (3-0, 1-0) forced four turnovers on Thursday at home to erase a three-touchdown deficit against Smith Valley (2-2, 0-2) and came out on top, 37-30.
Sophomore running back Jeshua Fixel had a big day in the comeback win, going for 228 yards and four touchdowns on 20 carries.
The Warriors held the Bulldogs to 145 yards on the ground.
Excel will attempt to continue the winning streak on Saturday at home against Sierra Lutheran. It will be the final of four straight home games to start Excel’s season.
The Warriors have already matched the win total from the 2015 and 2014 seasons. With a win over Sierra Lutheran, Excel would tie the most wins in a single season for the program, set in 2013, when the Warriors went 4-4.
