It came as little surprise that High Desert League champion Spanish Springs led the HDL in all-league selections.
Ten Cougs were recognized by the league’s coaches, followed by eight apiece for North Valleys and Hug. Four Reed players landed on all-league teams.
Wooster, which finished third in the Sierra League, actually led the 4A North with 12 selections. Sierra League and state champion, Galena, had 10.
Spanish Springs’ Court Diesner was voted the HDL Offensive Player of the Year.
His teammates, Austin Fullmer (forward), Jose Estrada (defender) and Kyle Georgeson (defender) were voted to the first team. Wilmer Hernandez (midfield), David Trujillo (midfield) and Fernando Silverio (defender) were second-team selections. Anibal Gonzales (forward), Daniel Vazquez (midfield) and Hugo Rodriguez (keeper) received honorable mention.
Reed’s Dayton Farrow was named the Midfield Player of the Year.
Also for the Raiders, Parker Jenkins (defender) was a second-team all-league choice. Defenders Joey Calix and Tyler Verde received honorable mention.
